“In 20 years, all cars will be electric.” Warren Buffett 11/20/09
The transformation from a petroleum-fueled, combustion engine transportation network to a plug-in electric drive “economy” will dramatically affect businesses and consumers in ways that are only starting to be understood. Beyond the challenges of creating efficient and safe new vehicles and advanced battery and storage systems, a whole new electricity delivery and control infrastructure will need to be developed that interfaces with arguably the world’s largest machine — the electric grid. The transition will likely be tortuous, but along the way there will also be substantial opportunities to make the current transportation network operate more efficiently through better systems optimization and control of key components, including driver behavior and logistics.
On Friday, December 18, 2009 at noon EST, Harvard Business School’s Green Business Alumni Association (GBAA) will conduct a webinar on the topic of “The Case for Green Transportation… from electric vehicles to batteries and logistics.” The GBAA is pleased to have Ryan Popple (Tesla Motors), Doug Moorehead (A123Systems) and Eric Weiss (Greenroad) provide their valuable insights into this rapidly developing and changing market. 20 minutes of questions will be allowed during the hour long webinar.
The cost for the webinar will be $10.00 and payable through the HBS GBAA’s paypal account. Please follow this link https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=8144425, to register. Upon payment receipt, an email will be sent providing specific instructions for the webinar as to logins and phone numbers. The email will be sent to the email address provided through paypal.
