About Agilis
Agilis was formed in 2003 by Joseph Hirl to provide energy commodity and risk management solutions for companies and investors focused on emerging opportunities in the competitive US and international energy markets. Over this period, Agilis has consulted to a broad range of companies ranging from early stage technology and hedge funds to Fortune 100 companies and investment banks in the United States, Mexico, Australia and Europe. At the request of management and investors, Agilis has developed expansion-based business plans, energy plant feasibility studies, restructuring plans, capital raise initiatives and advanced risk quantification solutions across the fields of electricity, natural gas, emissions, biogas and biofuels. Depending on the client’s needs, Agilis has worked at arm’s length or as a close partner to senior management being involved in the day-to-day management of the business.
Agilis Energy is specifically focused on providing comprehensive and practical energy use, efficiency and risk management solutions to medium to large energy consumers. Given the multitude of energy choices, financial incentives and market complexities, consumers are in need of comprehensive, systems-based advice that allows them to prudently and effectively prioritize initiatives to save energy, reduce costs, manage market risks, upgrade/retrofit facility equipment and meet sustainability targets. Too often, single “issue/opportunity” focus fails to account for the inter-relationships and dynamics between key elements within a consumer’s facility system. Agilis Energy combines wholesale market risk quantification and management sophistication with deep operations and technical system experience to provide consumers with the insight to operate from a position of strength and confidence to achieve their energy goals.
Joseph Hirl earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Electricial Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University. He has also received graduate level training in Nuclear Engineering and Operations and is certified as a Nuclear Engineer by the US Department of Naval Reactors.
